Finding themselves in a world dominated by corporate pop masquerading as country music, Deception Past is proof that talent, ambition and honesty still has a place in the American music landscape. Taking a big step forward, the band’s new self-titled record demonstrates their most thoughtful and heart-felt work to date. Driven by the desire to create authentic music that connects with listeners across generations, Deception Past has always strived to bring audiences that unmistakable magic heard in the music of the country legends they hold in such high regard.

Growing up in different corners of Washington State, the band came together in Seattle in 2012. Originally a no holds barred outfit of twelve friends, liquor and a common love, Deception Past has slowly solidified their lineup, sound and drive. Led by the powerful vocal harmonies of brothers Andrew, Joseph and Tyler Pettersson, Deception Past is a family band in the true sense of the word. “We’ve been playing music together our whole lives,” Andrew explains, “and we probably will be until we die. At times it can be a wild emotional ride, but at the end of the day music's in our blood and that love of music hold us all together.” And the wheels keep on turning – tours in 2012 from Portland to San Diego and 2015 through Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and Utah have kept Deception Past running on all cylinders.

From driving drum beats, hot lead guitar, sweet mandolin and sultry pedal steel, the band is constantly trying to improve their craft and show the world that country doesn’t have to be what the radio tells you. The release of their latest self-titled album in November 2016 shows the band in their best form yet. The songwriting, playing and production is a major leap forward for the band and they are looking forward to touring extensively after it’s release.
